Cento’s Carnival which dates back to the 1600s is a celebration of the stars of show business. During the event there are floats with more than 500 people in colourful costumes parading through the town’s seventeenth-century streets drawing the public in to the cheerful, festive mood.
For centuries, the party remained a very local celebration until the town twinned with the carnival in Rio de Janeiro- the festival has now become known internationally. Date: 5th Feb, 19th Feb, 26th Feb, 4th Mar- the float parades begin at 2pm.
