If you live along the ancient Via Aemilia, you get used to the supercar industry widely known as Motor Valley: a part of Emilia-Romagna which is deeply characterized by its passion for both motors and the various activities which they entail. Among the famous companies are Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati.
Each one has an extraordinary museum where you can discover the past and take a look at the building process and its secrets! The astonishing enthusiasm for these work of art is proved by the large number of private collections which are today a truly “place of pilgrimage for petrol heads” and huge quantity of events and competition going on during the year.
The most eagerly awaited vintage car competition will take place from the 11th to the 15th May 2011. The route Brescia-Roma and back, passes through the classical streets of Mille Miglia and touches seven regions: Lombardia, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, and Toscana on the way back. The 2011 route will go through some of the most beautiful Italian cities. In Emilia Romagna the Mille Miglia will cross Bologna (13th and 14th May), Imola, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Parma (14th May). In Romagna the passing is foreseen in Cento (FE), Gambettola (FC), Rimini and San Marino Republic (13th May). After the great success of the past edition, the Mille Miglia will go through Bologna again: the famous Freccia Rossa cars will pass through the city centre both there and back. The Mille Miglia will stop also in Modena, with a 150 Ferrari procession and, from early afternoon till night, it will pay tribute to the Casa Enzo Ferrari Museum. A great news of this edition will be the passage into the Maserati area. Also this year the “Ferrari Tribute to the Mille Miglia” will take place. 130 Ferrari, built from 1958 till nowadays, will open the vintage car race. On Saturday afternoon the passage through Maranello with a special proof in the Fiorano Modenese racetrack is also scheduled, after the passing by the Ferrari factory. There will be also the historic passages through the Passo della Futa and Passo della Raticosa.
